Wow! Another year gone already! Moberly River Outfitters LTD has now finished out a second successful hunting year. Bear hunting was awesome again this year. We harvested fifteen black bears over spring and fall, 35% of them over 7 feet! The biggest bear for the year measured out at 7’-7” square with a 20 7/16” skull. Our spring bear hunters saw an average of 30 bears during their six day spot and stalk hunts. Fall was especially fun hunting the big bears in the oat fields and it was pretty common to see 5-6 bears in an evening of hunting. |

Moose hunting was great as well, our seven hunters harvested 5 nice moose, two of them over 50”. Elk hunting was fantastic, we only had three elk hunters this fall but we had 100% success. All elk were taken with less than 30 yard shots after being called in during the bugling season. The biggest measured a whopping 331 inches! Deer hunting was not quite as successful as last year unfortunately. Warm weather and high winds kept a lot of the big bucks in hiding the first two weeks of the season. Out of twelve hunters we successfully harvested eight whitetail bucks, the largest scoring just under 140. |

2005 is shaping up to be another great year. We still have several openings for spring bear hunting and will be adding a specific fall season now just for bears (before they were only an add-on to other hunts.) Just a reminder that you can take two black bears in BC and we do have lots of color-phase bears in our area. There are a couple openings yet for the early August non-trophy moose season. We already are almost booked full for our September elk hunts with only TWO spots left if you want to hunt them during the bugling season in 2005. |

October has room yet for a couple moose hunters and we are still looking for some deer hunters for November.
